Norwich Jazz Club are excited to welcome guitarist Chris Allard as he joins the house trio to perform his selection of swing, funk and fusion classics.
A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (2000-2004) and former member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (2004-2007), Chris enjoys a diverse career comprising performing, composing, studio session work and teaching (he returned to the Guildhall as Jazz Guitar Professor in 2017).
His music has taken him to prestigious stages and venues around the world, performing and recording with artists such as Jacqui Dankworth MBE, Charlie Wood, Dame Cleo Laine, Sir John Dankworth, Omar Kamal, the BBC Big Band, Jamie Cullum, Gwilym Simcock, Alison Balsom OBE, Lea Salonga, Tim Garland, Il Divo, Ken Peplowski, Sheridan Smith, Paul Booth, Steve Waterman, and many others.
Numbering John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Bill Frisell, Joe Pass, and Wes Montgomery among his guitar influences, you can be assured of a lively evening of funk, boogaloo and fusion tunes performed by one of the best in the business. This live video of Chris’s band showcases his playing wonderfully.
